Reading a guide
What the evidence labels mean
A plain-language guide to traditional use, limited evidence, and stronger evidence labels.
Evidence is not all the same
Some herbal uses come from long-standing traditional practice. Others have been studied in people, but the size and quality of that research varies.
The labels help you understand the kind of support behind a guide. They do not guarantee that an option will work for you.
Use the label with the whole guide
Read the practical guidance, safety notes, and when-to-seek-care section together. A promising study does not remove a medication interaction or make a serious symptom safe to self-treat.
Ask useful follow-up questions
If you want to go deeper, ask a pharmacist or clinician whether the ingredient fits your medications, health history, and the form you plan to use.
